Curious as to where everyone stands on this issue. Just wrote an article laying out the basics of the rule here. Within that article I wrote this: Agree or disagree?

I am an avid dirt bike rider. I also love my ATVs. That being said, when it comes to hunting, my stance is much like yours. There are times I have appreciated an ATV for the pack out! Especially lugging out a big bull moose. There are times I will use a quad to get me back in a forest service road a few miles and then go on foot from there. I'd have a hard time blasting one off the ATV though... seems pretty unsportsmanlike. My mind might change if it was big enough though. So really I feel like we are all entitled to rights. Your rights to quiet infringe on another's rights to noise and vice versa. In most cases you still get your quiet hunting a majority of the time so it would be unfair to shut them down for the small percentage of time you are really being bothered. My .02

I hear you. I have made a pack-out much easier via ATV, and have been eternally grateful for it. It's a tough issue.

I love my atv's but there is a time and place for hunting use. I believe game populations have declined in part to increased vulnerability due to vehicles and roads. I loved mine while in hell's canyon. Don't want to beat my truck up getting to the top to start hunting. Just jump on the atv get to where I want to legally and start hoofing it. It is the irresponsible use that bugs me. creating new trails etc... Love it to legally get game out.
