Nice review by Jared here. Jared, I've been in the market for awhile, so thanks for the review. Also, way to go supporting an Idaho based company! You really did give a rave review, but now that I'm getting down to the nitty gritty of deciding to fork out cash for a nice pack, I'm wondering if there is anything at all that annoyed you about it. Anything at all, or is it all good? thanks ~

Thanks for the cross link! The only complaint that I had with this pack was its empty weight at 7 1/2 lbs...but even the highest end pack on the hunting market (which I believe to be the new Kuiu Icon pack) is just over 5 pounds and double the money. For me - I felt it was worth the savings to go with the Eberlestock and get rock solid performance. And truth be told - the pack fits me so well the weight is more of on "on paper" type issue and not out in the field. You just don't feel it!
Another thing I wanted to mention - I was able to go to Sportsman's Warehouse where I have friends managing the hunting and clothing departments, so they allowed me to take out their various packs and load them up with 50 lbs in gear to simulate a trip. With a light pack, it's much more difficult to make a decision about which brand/model is best - but when I got some weight in the back they became entirely different animals. Nothing rode as well as the Eberlestock, IMO.

I love my Eberlestock X2, its fantastic for a daypack/meat hauler. I helped pack out 2 cows last year as well as my bear. It would easily make an overnighter, but I would guess 2 or 3 days would be the max with this one.

Great pack,I have a eberlestock and it doesnt feel like you even have a pack on.It does start to bite into you once you get around 80lbs in it though. All of the features are well thought out,it is very easy to access gear.My only complaint is that the waist strap eventually works loose.

Novice, do you have the same pack, or do you have a different size?
