Howdy from IF. I am a biologist for the State. No not for IDFG although I do have my degree in Wildlife Management. Hopefully this forum takes off. Cool to have something for local Idahoans. My wife drew unit 67-1 moose tag. We are excited for that. Like to bowhunt and rifle hunt as well as take some "fowl" in the winter. Good luck to everyone this year.

aisbio, good to have you with us. I'm trying to rack my mind for what other state agency hires biologists!
Good luck on the moose hunt, and congrats to your wife for drawing! It's nice and close by to IF, so you should have plenty of time to scout this summer. I'm sure you'll do just fine.
thanks again for joining the forum ~

Thanks! believe it or not I am with the Dept. Of Agriculture. Working with invasive species (still waiting for feral pigs to take hold in this state; hopefully they don't) but if they do I may get to shoot one some day. We plan on doing plenty of camping/scouting in 67 this summer. Luckily cow moose tend to not move to far so I am fairly certain we can find a few this summer and they should be close come fall. Good luck to you this year.

Good to me you aisbio! That cow hunt should be a blast, and I'll be very jealous this fall when you get to enjoy some of the best wild game meat around! One day I will draw a moose tag...maybe...

Originally from Orofino, I live in Austin Texas now and hunt in Coryell Co. We're covered up in pigs. Fun to hunt, but they can sure cause some damage.
